Statistics on theft from carriers
Freight transportation crime is on the rise with a monthly incidence of 7.3% in our country.
During 2021, merchandise theft reported 211,700 cases.
52.9% of the companies consider insecurity and violence to be the biggest problem they face.
Since the end of 2016, cargo theft in Mexico has increased considerably.
In 2021 alone, theft with the use of physical and/or moral violence against goods in transit had an incidence of 73%, which translates to 211,700 robberies, out of the 2,900,000 reported, according to the National Survey of Business Victimization (ENVE).
This affects companies that import and export goods.
In 2022, the 5 states that were reported as the most violent are: Guanajuato, Baja California, State of Mexico, and Jalisco.
And the cities most susceptible to cargo theft were: CDMX, Michoacán, Jalisco, Zacatecas, Morelos, Veracruz and Puebla., with the first and the last being the most frequent.
